Dork Magazine: “as if on cue, SPINN are answering our prayers.”
Forming in Liverpool, SPINN have been friends since school. Comprised of Jonathon Quinn on vocals and rhythm guitar, Andy Power, on lead guitar and keyboard, Sean McLachlan on bass guitar and backing vocals, and Louis O’Reilly on drums. SPINN have become something of a favourite amongst their local scene in Liverpool.
SPINN do as SPINN are, and their attitude towards music is much like themselves. “As Chris martin once said, time is so short and there must be something more, we could be that something,” Lead singer Jonathon Quinn says. He continues, “We could be the saviours of guitar-pop, we could be terrible people, listen and find out”.
The band have become known for their sense of humour and sentimental guitar-pop songs. Though they are often tongue-in-cheek in demeanour, the band exude the sort of songwriting that can only be taken seriously.
2017 has saw the band play Kendal Calling, FestEVOL, Liverpool Music Week as well as enjoy support slots with The Sherlocks, Flyte, Will Joseph Cook, and play alongside, Her’s, The Orielles, and Dream Wife.
Their two singles, ‘Home’, and, ‘Notice Me’, have featured on an array of Spotify branded playlists, this has seen both tracks reach 100,000 plays on the streaming service. The band’s eponymous debut EP was produced by label mate Chris McCrory of Catholic Action and engineered by Alex Quinn at Parr Street Studios.
Tenement TV: “Refreshingly honest in their approach, the four-piece have opted for pure fun in favour of emotional depth and meaning.
