A band conceived through a love of 70s & 80s Disco & Funk. They bring a contemporary twist on the genres with a seriously tight rhythm section, infectious funky guitar riffs and gritty, raw vocals.
Past singles “Goose”, “Easy Peeler” & “Cool Cat” all received airplay from BBC Radio Manchester, Sheffield & BBC Radio 6 (Chris Hawkins) as well as many other regional radio stations around the UK. Their single “Bellyaches” was instantly made Radio X Track of the Week (Gordon Smart Evening Show) and received high praise from many online blogs, magazines.
They have amassed over 3,000,000 streams on Spotify and have supported acts such as Blossoms, Spring King, The Amazons & Prides on their UK tours. Alongside this they have been booked for major UK festivals such as Reading Festival, Y NOT Festival, Kendal Calling & Neighbourhood Festival.
In June 2017 the band Sold Out 450 capacity Sound Control in Manchester forcing them to announce a mammoth 650 capacity in December 2017 which recently Sold Out two months before the show.
The band released their much anticipated single “W.Y.N.A” in May 2019, their first release since the excellent “Skint Kids Disco EP” more than 14 months before. The single made an immediate impact with tastemakers John Kennedy (Radio X-Posure) and Shell Zenner (Amazing Radio), as well being added to three major Spotify playlist, “New Music Friday UK”, “The Indie List” and “All New All Now.” The single amassed over 100,000 streams already in it’s first month of release. Second single “Extra Terrestrial” soon followed, with the track gaining support from John Kennedy’s Radio Xposure and European Spotify Playlists “Indie Radar” and “Sommergefuhle.”
No Hot Ashes released their long awaited debut album ‘Hardship Starship’ on 16th August 2019 accompanied by some impressive reviews from ‘Indie is not a genre’, ‘Born Music’ and ‘GigSlutz’.
